Registration guidelines

Registration is open for the World Conference on Tobacco or Health, the largest gathering of tobacco control advocates, policy makers, researchers, public health and clinical experts from across the world. If you're involved in any area of tobacco control, this is the conference you don't want to miss!

Pre-registration is also now open for workshops and post-graduate courses held during the conference. Enrolment is complimentary, if you are registering for the whole conference. If you plan only to participate in a workshop or PG course, you will be charged a fee equivalent to a one-day registration.

Offline pre-registration deadline: Friday, 5 March 2015

Online pre-registration deadline: Sunday15 March 2015

After 15 March, registration will only be available ONSITE, beginning at 14:00 on Monday, 16 March 2015.

Declaration of Interest

Individuals who are supported or employed by any entity directly involved in the production, manufacture, distribution or sale of tobacco products are requested not to register or participate in the Conference. If nevertheless they do so, their registration may be cancelled by the organisers without refund.

Please read the Declaration of Interest BEFORE registering. Submit the form to if you need to declare a Conflict of Interest.

There you will be requested to either create a new account or log-in to your existing one. Once logged-in please click on 'Conferences' icon to begin the online registration process.

Payment may be made using any of the following types of credit card: Visa, Mastercard/Eurocard and American Express.

All credit cards will be charged in US dollars.

Offline Registration

To register by email, use the offline registration form. The completed form should be sent to along with proof of payment. Any form received without payment cannot be processed.

Offline registration may be made with the following payments:

General Information

  • Registration includes: Participation in all scientific sessions, workshops and post-graduate courses (pre-registration required), access to the exhibition and the scientific poster area, an invitation to the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, 17 March 2015, coffee breaks, online access to the presentations of the conference after the conference has taken place and the conference delegate bag.
  • Workshops and post-graduate courses: All post-graduate courses and workshops are complimentary for registered delegates (under any registration category). If you wish to attend only the workshops/courses, the cost will be as per a one-day registration. All workshops/courses will take place in parallel on Tuesday, 17 March 2015. Consequently, you may either choose one full-day course/workshop, or a combination of one morning course/workshop and one afternoon course/workshop. 
  • Accompanying persons: Registered accompanying persons are entitled to attend the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, 17 March 2015 and coffee breaks. They will be able to access to the exhibition area, but they are not allowed to attend scientific sessions.
  • Student discount: A special discounted registration rate is offered for full-time students. Delegates registering as students must show their student identification at the Registration Desk when they collect their conference bag and badge at the Conference.
  • Discount for nurses: A special discounted rate is offered for nurses of any age. Delegates registering as nurses will need to show a letter from their employer confirming they are nurses and shown at the Registration Desk when collecting the Registration pack at the conference.
  • Photo release: As a registered delegate, you hereby authorise the WCTOH Secretariat and attending media to photograph you within the framework of the 16th World Conference on Tobacco or Health. Press: Other registered press representatives will be taking photographs and videotaping portions of the conference. Other photography: Delegates are entitled to take photographs of the Conference for their own personal, educational and/or advocacy purposes. The WCTOH Secretariat will not be liable if delegates object to being photographed in these circumstances.

Onsite Registration : After 15 March

After 15 March 2015, registration will only be possible on-site in Abu Dhabi. Easy on-site registration will be set up at the Registration Desk at the conference.

Conditions of Payment

All registration forms must be accompanied by the necessary payments in USD only. This includes registration and/or course fees and fees for accompanying persons. Registrations will be processed only upon receipt of payment.

Any bank fees charged must be borne by the participant.

In case of payment by bank transfer, a copy of the bank transfer document must be sent to the WCTOH secretariat along with the registration form to Please also take care to indicate that this is a 'registration' payment, with the delegate name(s) or company name in the payment reference.

Upon receipt of your registration form and payment, the WCTOH Secretariat will send you a written confirmation of your participation.

Please note, bank transfers may only be made up until Friday, 5 March 2015. After this date, we cannot guarantee that bank transfer payments will be received in time for the conference.

Cancellation policy

Up until 12 December 2014: Full refund, less USD $100 administrative charges. (This option is no longer available)

13 December 2014 - 19 February 2015: Cancellation charge of 50%

As of 20 February 2015: No refund

All cancellations must be sent to the WCTOH Secretariat in writing. The amount to be refunded will be calculated according to the date the cancellation notification is received. All refunds will be made after the conference.

Please note that no refund will be made after 20 February 2015 due to non-receipt of visa.

No refunds will be made for registration fees already paid by scholarship recipients.

Transferring a Registration

It is possible to transfer an existing registration to another person if you are not able to attend the conference. The transfer fee is USD $80.

Requests to transfer a registration must be sent to the WCTOH secretariat in writing to . Please send the existing registration name and registration ID number (which is on your receipt) along with a completed offline registration form for the person to whom the registration is being transferred to.

Lost Conference Badges

Please report lost badges to the Registration Desk immediately.

Identification must be provided in order to receive a replacement badge. Replacement badges are subject to a USD $50 administrative fee.
